I know - i know, I haven't done a report from the Galloway Hills. Sorry folks we've been busy decorating our new home and planning for our forthcoming wedding!
Hence my next statement.....

THE CAR HAS GONE

Well as most people know it anyway, we have sold most of the items from the car and are scrapping the shell very soon. If anyone needs anything for a 205 get in touch we may still have it!

Our plans are to use the money to finish the house and then next year (after the wedding) buy a car already prepared.

I'll try and keep this updated as much as I can.

Cheers for now

Ash xx
You will see from 'The Car' section of the site that we have decided tarmac rallying isn't the way we want to go for the rest of the season - instead we are going to take our time rebuilding the car to forest spec and we are going to put an entry in for the Galloway Hills Rally. We may do another few events before the year is out but not too sure which ones as yet. Watch this space!

The car is still in pieces, due to the fact that the 2 dates scheduled for events have been cancelled. So our next event won't be until the 23rd July. Watch this Space!

The car is still stripped - ready to be rebuilt. Unfortunately the team have been very busy with various other events over the last few weekends! The team will not be competing on the next round on the 21st May @ Stobbs due to the fact that Craig & Ashley are away for the weekend.(Couldn't be helped sadly) We will be back out for the next round, which is still not finalised, as the organisers were having trouble with the venue. Watch this space to find out more!

The car has now been stripped of engine and gearbox ready for its rebuild. While to gearbox is out we will also be replacing the clutch, as it took a bit of beating after being stuck in 3rd for the last stage at Ingliston! We won't be competing at Stobbs on the 21st May as the car will not be ready by then. We are doing our best to try and have the car ready as soon as poss though so we can get back out there into the championship!

We arrived back home from a windy but bright Ingliston around 11pm last night. It certainly won't be a rally to forget!
The first 2 stages went great and we were happy with the times we were setting. Especially on stage 2 when we were that high over the jump at the end of the stage that the finsh control boards dissapeared!! On the 3rd stage the car started leaking oil. When we got the car into service the crew set about trying to find the leak...we found it - coming from the crack that had 'appeared' in the diff casing. We discussed whether or not to continue with the event and of course, we decided to carry on and just hope that nothing else went wrong. Stage 4 we tried our best and pulled over where we could to let cars past setting a good time considering the problems. The next 3 stages were much the same, we had dropped quite a lot of time by this point. Our spirits were still high going into the last stage after the service crew topped us up with yet more oil! Then more fun began - approx 1/2mile into the last stage the car seized and came to a dead stop (leaving a nice pair of 'number 11's' down the track) all we could see was smoke, Ashley jumped out (just incase we were on fire) we tried to get the car going again, and managed to jam the car into 3rd gear so Ash dived back into the car, put her belts on, and off we went round the last 4miles of the rally stuck in 3rd gear. We just wanted to get to the end of this stage and get a finish - we did manage it in 10mins and 11secs.
However, we got a finish - 51st overall.
We had a great day and hopefully we should still get some points for the championship for either 6th or 7th in class.
We will now have to re-build the gearbox and at the same time we will be replacing the clutch. We have decided not to complete at Stobbs which is the next round on 21st May, this will give us more time to get the car back to the way we would like it! If anyone was at the event and has any pictures feel free to email them us using the email address on the 'Contact Us' page. Thanks

As we speak the van is being loaded and the car is being polish by the team, we will be heading away after work tomorrow. As there is no scrutineering until Saturday am we shall just be having a social and a good nights kip tomorrow night!

We have just received the seeded entry list for the 3rd round at Ingliston. We are seeded 73 out of 77 cars. As there are only 6 cars registered for the championship in our class, as long as we get a good clean run we should pick up some decent points for the championship.
Feel free to come and cheer us on!

Our entry for Ingliston has been received and accepted! The car is just needing a good spanner check before the event and it'll be good to go. Watch this space to find out where we are seeded.

Our entry for the 3rd round at Ingliston will be in the post tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to this event and it's not quite as far away as Crail! We will be heading up on the Friday night(21st April) and are staying at Livingston. See you all there!

Well...we are back from Crail very happy with 34th overall and 6th in class 2 (however we think we will get points for 3rd in class as not all the competitors in the class are registered for the championship!)
We had a great day and the car never missed a beat. The weather was good, with rain in the morning but then Mr Sun came out as agreed!
Thanks to all the organisers, marshals and competitors for a great event, well organised as always. Also thanks to the trusty service crew who kept the car going well all day.

See you all at Ingliston.

Only a week to go until the re-scheduled Crail, we are ready and raring to go now. The car just needs a good spanner check and we'll be good to go! We have just received the regs for the 3rd round @ Ingliston on the 22nd April, the entry is filled in but wont be sent until after Crail. Just to be on the safe side!
Yesterday went well, with only 3 cars turning up (us, another 205 & a sunbeam) we got a good run with the car. Stobbs is an excellent mixed surface venue and for only £30 per half days testing what more can you want. We just want to say thanks very much to Martin Elsdon for running the test and for making us feel very welcome throughout the day.
Anyone wishing to contact Martin regarding this venue please feel free to contact us for his contact details.
Check out the gallery for some pics from the day.

As Crail has been postponed, we are off to Stobbs at Hawick in the morning for a days testing with the car. Check out our gallery page for some new pics of the car and van.

One day to go! The team are heading up tomorrow lunch time. They will be scrutineering around 6pm tomorrow night, then back to Kinross for a good kip! Hopefully the snow will stay away, we've booked Mr Sun for Saturday! It'll be a good day, no matter what, just going for a finish ;)

The seeded entry list for the 2nd round @ Crail is available to view at
www.strc.co.uk/forum.
We are seeded car 71 out of 79 entries. Not bad for our first event! Keep your eye on the results next weekend to see how we get on.

Our very own service van was purchased last week from fellow Car Club director Tony Currie. Don't worry T we'll take good care of it. Craig has been flat out trying to get it racked out in time for the 4th of March. Pics to follow.....
4th of March here we come! Our entry is in and accepted by Dumfermline Car Club. The team will be heading up on the 3rd to get scrutineered and signed on.

Feel free to come and cheers us on!

Unfortunately the CHAP Motorsport team will not be competing in the first event of the season on 4th February due to the fact that the South of Scotland Car Club's annual Dinner Dance is happening on the same day...and as Ashley is on track to be Ladies champion for the second year running we really should put in an appearance!!
